The youth are served through crisis and stabilization services, ages 5 – 17, runaway, homeless youth, or suffering from abuse, neglect, and abandonment as well as other family issues. These services include emergency shelter, life skills training, comprehensive child and family assessments, individual and group counseling, education, and are open 24 hours 7 days a week.

Piedmont CASA is the sole organization in the counties we serve that recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who are the voice for foster children in Juvenile Court. CASA volunteers provide critical feedback and information to Judges overseeing juvenile cases, and also provide a helping hand to foster children in their new foster homes, at school, and in all areas of their lives. Whenever possible, CASA volunteers work to return children to their homes when it’s safe and secure for them to do so.

A Friend’s House is dedicated to meeting the emotional and physical needs of children in crisis.Services such as counseling, medical treatment, academic assistance and recreational opportunities are available for the children. In 2008, the Henry County Department of Family and Children Services received 2,146 reports of child abuse, neglect or abandonment.That averages 179 reports each month!statistics are heartbreaking considering these numbers have more than doubled since 1998.

Kid Stuff exists for the passion and purpose of bringing love and laughter into the lives of children whose young lives have been affected by strife, poverty, or disease. They seek to raise the awareness of children’s needs, by locating opportunities for KidStuff assistance and to positively affect the lives of these children and families.

All Services provided at no cost for any victim of family violence and has an 18 bed safety shelter. These services include a 24 hour crisis line, legal advocacy, case management, safety planning, COPE (A one on one program for children in domestic violence situations), professional counseling, resettlement, plus follow up services.
